A Superfortress which is reported to have been on a secret experimental ilight involving cosmic ray research, exploded to-day, killing at least eight occupants. Thirteen men, some oi whom were civilians, are believed to have been aboard when the bomber lett its base at Waycross, Georgia, an hour earlier, and four parachuted to safety. Witnesses said the aircraft exploded without warning—no smoke was seen before the explosion, nor were the engines faltering.
