WELLINGTON, Oct. 7 The Minister of Heaitn (.Miss IVI. B. Howard), replying co Mr h. r. Mr Nash, replying to Mr W. H. fortune (Nat., Eden), said the question 01 purchasing ano training dogs toi the assistance of the police m tracking persons was investigated sonic years ago but because of divided opinions among authorities in other countries as to the value of dogs for this purpose and the, cost of establishing and maintaining special training grounds and kennels and employing trained dog-masters, it was concluded that the expense would not be warianted. Further inquiries would now bv Mr a Nash replying to Mr K J. Holyoake (Nat., Pamatua), said there was no provision in produce agreements between Britain and New Zealand for an alteration of prices in the event of the devaluation of sterling in terms of the dollar. .
