During September 28335 units of electric power more than in September 1947, were used in Westport, reported the Electrical Engineer, Mr. T. Dobson, to the Westport Borough Council. Approval for the erection of the Fonblanque Street 11,000-volt had been been received from the State Hydro-electric Department and it was hoped to commence this work in October, the transformer having been ordered for mme and being due to arrive about December.
