FALSE PRETENCES IN CAR SALES ALLEGED

P.A. WELLINGTON, Oct. 6 Six charges of alleging false pretences concerning car sales transactions, involving a total sum of £2309 14s, were preferred against Nathan George Stothers, 30, a labourer, in the Magistrate’s Court to-day. It was alleged that Stothers had approached the Traders’ Finance Corporation, and had falsely represented that he had sold the cars to persons who had given him deposits on the cars. He secured hire-purchase agreements from the Corporation on the basis of his having sold the cars. Accused pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial.
