Greymouth, James Sontgen, Paroa, Alexandei Bradv, Grevmouth, Patrick Harrington, ‘Greymouth, and William Paine Green, Cobden. Curtain was the only man to appear, and pleaded guilty. Addressing Curtain, the Magistrate said: "I don’t want to read you a lesson. That is for your mother and father. I do not say liquor should not be taken if wanted, so long as it is at a reasonable time. there is a limit.” He added that, it was no good a youth like Curtain being found drinking with others. He did not want to start getting round dance halls drinking like that, concluded Mr Abernethy.
