Otago R.U. Makes Ambulance Gift
DUNEDIN. Oct. 6. A gift of a new' fuliy-equ.pped ambulance to the Otago centre of th ■ Order of St. John was announced b> the Otago Rugby Union. Rieleasing this information this morning, Mr H. L. Paterson, Otag - president of the order, said the Rugby Union had expressed the desire to confer a benefit which would serve every section of the tommun ity Confirming the gift, Mr R. W. S Bolting, president of the union, saici it. was designed as a recognition of the service given by the St. John Ambulance Brigade and the union wished it to be regarded as an appreciation on behalf of all who played summer and winter games.
The new ambulance will cost approximately £l5OO, and Mr Botting said the union’s contribution would be into four figures.
