(Our Own Correspondent). A good attendance ot cricket players prepared a pitch on Ferguson s Domain on Sunday. The pitch is in excellent condition, and a good season’s cricket is assured. Practices will be held in the evenings this week. Mr and Mrs W. Levett visited Hokitika at the week-end. Miss J. Condon left for Karangaroa at me week-end. Mr C. Hende was a visitor to Greymouth last week. . Mr Graham McKenzie, K.D.V., spent the week-end at Waiho. Mr and Mrs. L. Robertson were visitors to Hokitika last ween. Mrs E. Adamson and son, Hughie, have been discharged from the Westland Hospital. .. „ A , r Messrs J. Martini, S. Adamson, J. Adamson, O. Tomasi and J. Lamberton visited Christchurch last week, Mrs J. Codyre has returned home after a few days in the Westland Hospital. . Mr J. Clausen is spending a few days in Greymouth. Mr L. Bell, Rimu, is now residing in the district. • The weather last week was ccid in most parts of South Vvestland. The mountains and low-lying ranges were covered with snow. On ’i'hursday morning large flakes of snow fell over the whole fiat for a couple of hours. The whitebaiters in this district are to far having a lean time with the river mouth blocked and the cold weather. The little fish have failed to put in an appearance. A fat and store cattle sale will be held here on October 15. The auctioneers will be from Hokitika.
