CYCLING TWO RECORDS GO IN CYCLE ROAD RACE
With a strong southerly wind behind them, two riders in the 100 mile. South Island cash road cycling championship, shattered the first place and fastest time records. The winner, Cyril Arnst, of Nelson, from the- 46 mm mark, sliced more than half an hour off the previous record of 4hr 43min sec, recorded by Goldie Stack last year off 42min. L. Lethbridge, of Auckland, finished in 4hr 2min 11 l-ssec, and all the first ten were home inside the previous record. E. Maguigan, scr., of Blackball, recorded third fastest time, in 3hr 50 min 2sec.
