(Rec. 10.10) LONDON, Oct. 2 'l'he first International Grand Prix motor race to be decided in Britain since 1927, was held to-day on a new racing circuit at Silverstone in Nortnamptonshire. The results were as follows: — Luigi Villoresi, of Italy, driving a Maserati car, first, time, three hours eighteen minutes three seconds; average speed 72.28 miles an hour. Enrico Ascari, of Italy, also driving a Maserati car, second; time, three hours eighteen minutes seventeen seconds; speed, 72.19 miles an hour. F R. Gerard of Britain, driving an Era car, third; time, three hours twenty minutes six seconds; speed. 71.54 miles an hour.
