GOLF Australia v. N.Z . Test Match Opens

(Rec. 9.5). MELBOURNE, Oct. 3. In a day of contrasting displays, Australia and New-Zealand each won a foursomes match in the golf test, which began at .the Royal Melbourne links (West Course) on Saturday. The singles will be played on Monday. Although Silk and Glading were no match for A. N. Waterson and H. W. Hattersley, and were defeated 12 and 10, Woon and Hornabrook fought back courageously after being two down at the eighteenth, to defeat W. A. Edgar and D. Bachli, one up.
