HELICOPTERS IN SERVICE

, LONDON, September 30. A message was flown from the centre of London to the centre o. Paris in 47 minutes in a “hare and tortoinse” relay, in which helicopters and a jet plane were used. With the message from the Lord Mayor of London to the President of the Paris Municipality, a helicopter took off from near St. Paul’s and landed nine minutes later at Biggin Hill, Kent. The message was there given to the pilot uf a Gloster Meteor iet-plane, who landed 27 minutes after the take-off at Orly, Paris. From there a second helicopter took over and landed seven minute;-, later in the Place d’lnvalides.
