MILLERTON NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent)
Mrs H. Milligan has returned to Millerton after visiting Christchurch. Miss A. Stewart, of Australia, is paying a visit to her brothers at Millerton.
Mr H. Milligan has returned after visiting Christchurch. The Millerton Rangers Rugby juniors did not play their fixture on Saturday last at Millerton, owing to Ngakawau juniors being unable to field a full team. The soccer code has received a great deal of support from the Millerton public this season, and this support must be accredited to the-in-terest the district takes in the schoolboys’ competition. Some excellent football has been played by visiting teams from the West Coast, Canterbury and Otago. Buller have excellent young soccer players coming forward, and soccer enthusiasts are hoping that in the near future, they will again be reaching the same heights as the Millerton All Blacks. The Women’s Institute held their usual monthly meeting in the Community Hall on Tuesday evening. Mrs Jackson presided over a good attendance of members. The usual business was dealt with and the roll-call was well responded to. A dainty supper was provided by the hostesses Mesdames Cunniffe and Young. The Millerton Domain Board held a meeting in the Public Library on Wednesday night, Mr W. Watson presiding. Business dealing with the functions of the Board was discussed.
