WELLINGTON, Oct. 1. “The world is difficult —I question whether it has even been more difficult,” said the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr Nash, addressing the annual council meeting to-day of the Boy Scouts’ Association (New Zealand branch). . , “I look a decade ahead—it s not as certain as I would like it to be—but it will bring out the best in human beings if the foundations are right. That’s why your worth-whileness is more than average.” Speaking as Dominion Chief Scout, the Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, added his tribute to the work of the movement. After referring to the gravity of the world situation, His Excellency said that if a movement like the Scouts was not in existence at the present -.time someone would have to I devise something similar. '
