The Soviet announced on September, 19 that it would withdraw its troops from North Korea by December 31 next, and it suggested that the United States should also withdraw from South Korea. Czech Officers Sentenced to Death for Espionage LONDON, Sept. 29. Reuters Prague correspondent says that two non-commissiond officers in the Czechoslovak Army who pleaded guilty to charges of spying for “a certain Western Power” have been sentenced to death. One of them Sergeant Vladimir Cepelka was alleged to have been bought over by gifts of money, cigarettes and nylon stockings by “high-ranking officers of a foreign army.” The prosecution said that agents of the foreign Power had moved freely in Prague for three years under cover of diplomatic mission. They had used the office of the official representative of their country as a base for their Espionage activities.
