SWEDISH LABOUR PARTY RETAINS OFFICE IN ELECTIONS
-(Received September 20, 10.0 p.m.) LONDON, September 20. The Social Democratic (Labour) Party, retained its majority in the Lower House in the Swedish Parliament by securing 112 of the 233 seats in yesterday’s, elections, reports the Associated Press correspondent at Stockholm.
They lost three seats. The Liberal People’s Party emerged as a new and powerful Opposition Party, with 57 seats compared with 26 in the old Parliament. The Conservatives lost 17 of their 39 seats, while the Agrarians, with a loss of five, now have 30 seats. The Communist representation was reduced from 15 to.nine seats.
