Status of American Legation
P.A. WELLINGTON, Sept 20. Tile United States Minister, Mr R. M. Scotten, declined to-day to comment on the cabled announcement from Washington that the legation was to be raised to the status of an embassy, and that New Zealand’s representative at. Washington would be similarly changed. •'This is a matter for the Department of Internal Affairs,” he remarked.
