Lead Mine May Open in Te Arolia

. ■ w.v:-. j P.A. TE AROHA, Sept. *l5 A “reserved decision of an application by B. J. Dunsheath to mine lead at Te Aroha- was given by Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M., to-day, when the Minister of Mines recommended the grant of the application. The application was opposed by the Borough Council and others owing to its possible effect on the water supply, but the Warden considered the project economically sound, and the opposition evidence insufficient. .Mr Dunsheath considers that the lead deposits, the only known worth while ones in the Dominion, may ultimately produce the annual. requirement of 4000 tons. The applicant said to-day he was prepared to go ahead with the project immediately the Minister gives his decision.
