P.A. WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. A party of men who considered that remarks reported in the Supreme Court case last week and alleged to have been made by the leader of the Commonwealth Covenant Church, Lower Hutt, -were a reflection upon some of them, gathered last night in front of the church, Some of the party entered the church, and it is reported that they threatened the pastor. They then withdrew for further deliberations outside the building. A police officer arrived and the crowd dispersed. One estimate placed the number in the party of men- at approximately 100. The church was well filled. It is also reported that there have been developments within the church and that feeling has arisen through nine members being branded as “heritics” on Thursday last.
