Sydney Nazi Blamed For Bashings of Ex-Soldiers and Wives
(Received September 5, 9.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, September 5. A demonstration has occurred in the Sydney suburb of Rose Bay. These demonstrations have followed allegations bv ex-servicemen that, when two returned soldiers and their wives were beaten by thugs recently, it was connected with threats by a former prominent Nazi, Lars Brundahl. The bashings occurred on Friday night, when four unidentified men set upon two couples, and inflicted injuries, including broken noses.
One month ago, the two women who were -involved in the. incident, wrote to the Returned Soldiers’ League, stating that they had endured persecution from Brundahl for two years; that he had been convicted of assaulting one of them; and that he had said: “I have paid thugs to get rid of people that I loathe.” Ex-servicemen took took part m the demonstration at Rose Bay. They demanded that Brundahl should be deported. __
