YOUTH INJURED IN EARLY HOURS OF MORNING

About one o’clock this morning a young man whose name was not known, was run over by a shunting engine in the railway shunting yards about 50 yards from the Riverside station. He was carried no more than an engine’s length on the cow-catch-er of the train. The extent of his injuries could not be ascertained. He was promptly attended to on the call of the engine cr.to the proprietor of the Railway Hotel. Mr A. Mundy, who provided blankets until the arrival of the ambulance onr the scene. Dr. W. A. Bird was soon in attendance and the man who appeared to be about 25 years of age was conveyed' to the Greymouth Hospital.
