Chemist Failed To Keep Register
WELLINGTON, Sept 3. “It is clear that these regulations are issue’d with the very wise purpose of controlling narcotics.” This comment was made in the Magistrate’s Court to-djay by Mr H. J. Thompson, S.M. in imposing the minimum .penalty of £l2 10s on Henry Hubert Furneau, a registered chemist, who pleaded guilty to a charge of failing; to keep a register of dangerous drugs. Charges of failing to enter in a register the purchase of dangerous drugs and failing to prepare stock withdrawn. Counsel for the defendant said the Social Security Regulations imposed a great deal of clerical work on chemists and there was nothing sinister in the offence.
