Calcutta Dock Melee

CALCUTTA, September 2. Sixty dock guards were wounded when the police used tear gas and fired on striking guards in order to rescue two British officers whom the guards had captured. The Associated Press correspondent says the trouble arose when two guards refused to leave official quarters and locked up the officers who were sent to reason with them.
