WEDDING
CONDON—EVANS A very interesting and picturesque wedding took piace recently at be PatriCK's Churcn, Greymouth, when iviaigai et Giien, youngest daughter 01 Mr and Airs W. H. of Christchurch, ana Richard Arthur, third son 01 Mr and Mrs T. Condon, of South Westland, were joined in the bonas o* Holy Matrimony. Rev. Father S. O’Brien, of Kumara, oificiated ano celebrated Nuptial Mass, during which the solos, “Ave Maria” and “O S’alutans" were beautifully sung by Mrs N. A. Connor. Mrs J. Chunn was the organist. The bride, who entered the church, escorted by Mr J. Phillips, of Wellington, looked charming in her gown ot white angel lace, the bodice with long, closely-fitted sleeves having a high rounaed neckline and was relieved with a triple choker of pearls. Tiny buttons ornamented the back to the hipline from which flowed a fully gathered train. Her veil of uncut tulle and coronet of scalloped angel lace was held in place on either side with white carnations. She carried a - shower bouquet of white hyacinths, stocks and sweet peas. The bride was attended by her sister,Mrs M. E. Lewis, of Wellington, as Matron of Honour and Miss Gloria Scott, of Karangarua, as bridesmaid. They were frocked alike in pink and blue three-tiered frocks of angel lace with magua tops and mittens to match also with matching shoulder veils held in place with a half circle of lace flowers and they carried bouquets oi pink and blue hyacinths, carnations and sweet peas. The flower girls, Judith Crouch, niece of the bride, and Anette Condon .niece of the groom, wore pink and blue frilled poked bonnets and long frilled net frocks with mittens to match. Each carried baskets of cyclamen, sweet peas and lachenalies. The duties of the best man were carried out by Mr R. Condon and the groomsman was Mi’ Ivan. Scott. On leaving the church, the bride was presented with lucky horseshoes by lan Lewis and David Condon. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Harker’s where Mrs .T. Condon, received the guests wearing a black moss crepe frock, trimmed with gold beading. Her fur cape was relieved with a shoulder spray of gold freisias. She was assisted by Mrs J. Bassett, who wore a black morocain frock cut on classical lines and trimmed with pale pink. Her small black hat was fashioned with spring flowers. When the bridal couple left for. the north, the bride wore an aqua hat and frock of aqua moss crepe ..with grey accessories and a grey coney coat, the gift of the groom. Mr and Mrs A. Condon’s future home Will be in South Westland.
