Because of the high death rate oi babies from suffocation —32 in one year—it was important to Know tnc causes and prevention of such tragedies ,said Miss Woodhead, assistant nursing advisor, in an address to the Mothers’ Plunket Club on Tuesday. She added that these babies would not have died if greater care had been exercised. She adoveated the use of chaff pillows and .considered that sleeping bags were dangerous.
