French Doubts Of The Motive (Rec. 10.30) WASHINGTON, Sept. 1 High U.S. Army officers said to-day that all of the men inducted into the U.S. Army under the new Draft Law as well as the regular soldiers would be “screened” to discover whether they are Communists, or are “fellow travellers,” as only loyal Americans would be permitted to serve. The others would be “got rid of” as quickly as possible. Investigations, he said, have already begun into the loyalty of twenty-five thousand officers. Those who fail with the loyalty requirements will lose their commissions.
