FORGETFUL, AUCKLAND M.P.

P.A. ' AUCKLAND, Sept. 1. Fines totalling £2 10s were imposed on Mr W. T. Anderton, M.P., for Auckland' Central, for three traffic offences by Mr H. Jenner Wily, S.M., Defendant, who did not appear, was charged with having an unlicensed motor-car; having no driver’s licence: and failing to produce a warrant of fitness. ■ Traffic Inspector Knight, of the City Council Traffic Department, said he stopped defendant’s car on July 10. The car did not have a current licence, and defendant, who was, driving, was unable to produce a warrant of fitness, or a driving licence. .Defendant told witness that he had been away from Auckland, and had been too busy and had forgotten to have his cai’ reregistered.
