Body of Airman Found On Oamaru Beach

OAMARU, Sept. 1 The body of Angus Mclntosh, aged , 57, ox Invercargill, owner and pilot of die Russ Moth aircraft which crashed in the sea of Pukeuri last week, was found on the beach at Oamaru this morning, some seven or eight miles south of wher.e the sunken plane was located. It is thought the body was shaken clear during the attempts to raise the plane yesterday and -was carried south along the coast by the strong drift from the north. The body does not show sign of serious injuries. The theory is held that the plane, after landing on the sea, floated long enough for Mclntosh to slip his shoulder straps (if he had them on) and remove his coats and one of his shoes. Apparently he failed to get clear and went down wjith the aircraft.
