Wellington Leads In Women’s Tourney For K. Cup P.A. DUNEDIN, August 31 ■jl ne fourth round of the K Cup tournament was played at Dunedin today under good conditions. The most thrilling game of the- day was between Wellington, the present holders, and Auckland A, Wellington scoring two goals in the final minutes to win by two to nil. Wellington has thus won all four matches piayed so far in its section, and, having drawn a bye in the fifth round, goes through to the semi-finals, where it will have a bye, and will, therefore be automatically in the final. By defeating Ashburton in a close game, Canterbury A has also won four games to enter the semi-final, which will be played on Thursday. Other teams in the running are Otago, which has t,wo wins and a loss, and will play Taranaki in the fifth round of the section to-morrow, and Wairarapa which has two wins and two losses and is playing against Canterbury A in a fourth round match to-morrow. However, Ashburton almost caused an upset. It was leading by two goals to one at one stage, and only spirited ■hay oy Canterbury in the second half forced a win by four goals to two. Australia beat Taranaki .by nine goals to nil in a fine exhibition of forward play.
