CRICKET AUSTRALIANS BIGGEST WIN ON THE TOUR

LONDON, August 30. Australia’s win by an innings aiid 374 runs over Somerset was the quickest and most devastating of the tour. This Australian team has now equalled the record foi' wins by Australian teams in England. . With 560 runs on the board for five wickets in six hours on Saturday, a reasonably easy victory was assureu, but-as scon as Hassett saw the wicket was taking spin this morning he employed McCool’s and Ring’s legbreaks and W. Johnston’s slower spinners to wreck the county batting structure. McCool and Johnston bowled magnificently, and Somerset was twice ou.t in five minutes short of four hours. . Johnston, whose eight wickets made his bag for the tour 100, took the first wicket in each innings when he was bowling fast, but he got the others with spinners. He finished the match with eight for 68 off 28 overs. McCool had his most successful match of the tour. He bowled with exemplary accuracy, and finished with eight for 44 off 25 overs.
