N.Z. BILLIARDS CHAMPIONSHIP
P.A. DUNEDIN, August 31. The New Zealand amateur billiards championship began to-day. Results were:— A. Rudduck (O’fago) beat R. Whitford (Christchurch) by 666 to 408. Their best breaks were: Rudduck 57, 49. 49, 45, 37, 37, 32: average 10.7. Whitford: 74, 47, 28, 22; average 6.7 J. J. Shepherd (Auckland) the previous holder, beat C. Proctor by 666 to 394. Their best breaks were: Shepherd 61, 50, 47, 44, 40, 36, 35; average. 12.1. Proctor: 44, 41, 35, 31, 37, <26, 24.
