New World Record Under-Sea Dive

[N.Z.P.'A.—Reuter Cable]. (Received August 28, 8.50 p.m.) LONDON, August 28. Petty Officer W. Ballard,' descended 535 feet from the submarine rescue ship “Reclaim,” into Loch Fyne, Argyllshire, and set up..a new world record dive, which America held at 440 feet. Ballard wore a specially-adapted diving suit. The object of the dive was to enable the Naval technicians to perfect a diving suit in which rescuers can work comfortably at the crash-dive depth of submarines.
