Both Islands Exceed Power Allocations
WELLINGTON. August 10. Both the North and South Island electric supply authorities considerably exceeded their power allocations for’ the week ended August 8. The North Island exceeded its quota of 32,868.000 units by 2,342,000 units and the South Island quota of 13,342,000 units was exceeded by 877,000. • „ . The lake levels for the week ended at 9 a.m. yesterday, compared with the previous week, were: Taupo 1175.5 feet (1175.5); Waikaremoana 20003.2 (2003); Mangahao dams full (full). The rainfall in the three areas was Taupo 0.84 inches (0.81); Waikaremoana 0.63 (1.43); Mangahao 3.78 (5.09).
