BRUNNER NOTES
[Our own Correspondent] BRUNNER, August 10. The Brunner senior reserve Rugby League team continued their winning sequence on Sunday, when they defeated Ngahere. The forwards and backs combined to such good purpose that Brunner scored more than half a century in joints. Their line has yet to be crossed this season. At the other end of the ladder, Brunner midgets remain unbeaten, and on Sunday defeated Blackball in a game which the crowd enjoyed every bit as much as the senior game. Personal Mr C. Richards, who is a patient in Grey River Hospital, is making satisfactory progress. Mr R. Wicks, headmaster of Dobson School, has been admitted to the Grey River Hospital. A large number of residents journeyed to Christchurch at the weekend for the National race meeting. Mr W. Coates has been on a short holiday visit to Christchurch. Miss L. Richards has left on a visit to Wellington. Mr Waghorn, of Cronadun, is v'siting his sister, Mrs R. Dixon, of Taylorville. Mr Baird, manager of the Wallsend mine has been transferred to the North Island, and expects to leave within the next few weeks. He will be replaced by Mr Cunnmgham, a« present managing the Garvey’s Creek colliery.
