On Sunday morning, Miss Loretta, with R. Frame in the saddle, was the first of T. Smith’s galloping team to work. She strode over half a mile at a good working gallop. This mare looks very well at present. Manatone, R. Frame, went from the seven furlong post, and Velvet. Slipper, T. Smith, joined in at the six. and was still in front at the finish. Both horses are in great heart. Manatone leaves to-day for Christchurch, where he will race on Saturday at the C.J.C. meeting Chatmoney, ridden by K. • Powell, worked a couple of 'rounds. The first of the pacers to work was Dancing Doll, T. Rodgers. Laurine Grattan, driven by Sparrow Mason, worked well by herself. Pangitea, T. Rodgers, and the Jack Potts-W’arship filly. H. Roberts, worked well together over a round. Molly Grattan (K. Powell), worked at a strong pace over a couple 01 rounds. Adelma (Nugget Scott), Gizezra (E. Hollis), Dale Lass (P. Walsh), Delia Grattan (K. Powell), Sea Pirate (C. Walsh), Sarsfield' (W. Walsh). Wyne Leaf (K. Powell), all worked well. L. Pascoe worked his two, Courageous and Scotch Drift. Royal Bar (Walsh), and Stamina (K. Powell) worked tcgethe'v.
