COMMUNIST RULE OVER RELIGION IN ROUMANIA
BUCHAREST. August 5. A Bucharest new law requires Roman Catholic clergy to give, an oath of lovalty to the State, before being allowed to practice. The new law places all religious, and religious teachine: under State control. It requires all Roman Catholic clerical appointments to be made through State authorities. The Church’s relations with outside countries must only be. of a religious nature and must be conducted through the Ministery of Foreign Affairs. A fortnight ago Rumania denounced the Concordat with the Vatican.
