WESTPORT WOMEN’S INSTITUTE At the monthly meeting at. the Community Centre, Mrs K. Williams, vice-president, presided, and welcomed visitors among whom was Mrs Kirby, voluntary organiser from Karamea. Four new members were enrolled Competition winners were: Patchwork cushion cover: Miss R. ‘Theobald 1 Mrs W. Stowell 2; pickled onions: Mrs Ness 1; best bloom: Mrs Bruce 1. Miss Theobald 2, Mrs Norris 3. rheroll call “What I would do if a burglar came,” brought forward some varied defensive suggestions. Lne motto “May we never be hasty m iudgment and always generous, was explained by Mrs W. Wilsq n in an interesting manner. Mrs K. Richaids furthered her talk on Rewi Alley and this was generally enjoyed. Mis b.. Williams gave an informative address on the Community Centre.
