HOCKEY Canterbury Teams Win at Dunedin

■ • ' UNEDIN, August 6. Scoring a clear-cut win over Canterbury A by 5 goals to 0, Canterbury B to-day won the Otago' centennial hockey tournament. The other trophy, originally intended for the minor associations’ section, was awarded to Canterbury C, which scored most points in the B section. Messrs H. ’Teague, of Christchurch, and W. A. Scott, of Dunedin, have been appointed as umpires for the hockey test on Saturday. Mr Scott was the nominee of the Australians, and Mr Teague was nominated by the New Zealand Hockey Umpires’ Association. TO-DAY'S MATCHES The West Coast Hockey Association has arranged the following matches for to-day in the men’s competition:—Cobden v. Cobden Rangers, Rec. No. 1, at 1.30 (Messrs E. Newton and D. Bradley); Greymouth v. Wheelmen, Rec. No. 1, at 2.45 (Messrs R. Beckman and R. Day): Runanga v. Pacific, Rec. No. 3, 1.30 (Messrs W. Newton and R. Day). REP. TEAM PRACTICE In the event of the fixtures being postponed to-day, the representative team will hold a practice at 2 p.m. on the Recreation Ground. The following players are asked to be present in order to make a second team: — L. Nimmo, J. Thomson, M. Newton, J. Newton, G. Watson, D. Bradley, B. Newton.
