COMMUNIST PLAN FOR U.S. CIVIL WAR IN 1939

(Rec 11.50 p.m.) HONOLULU, Aug 6. Professor Louis Budenz, the former’ Editor of the Communist paper “New York Daily 1 Worker,” gave evidence at a hearing on the suspension of two school teachers for alleged Communist activity. He stated that the American Communist leaders were prepared to order civil war in the United States in September 1939, if the United States entered the war as Britain’s ally. Professor Budenz said: This order came from Eugene Dennis, who is now .the general secretary of the Communist Party, at the time when Germany and Russia were a.Tes. Dennis was then delivering the “party line” instructions from Moscow.
