Wool Sale at Wanganui

P.A. WANGANUI, Aug. 6. The Wanganui clutching sale was held to-day with a full and representative bench of buyers in attendance. The offering comprised 5,300 bales of crutchings and 15,700 bales of Joint Organisation stock wool. Crutchings from areas that had experienced drought were shorter in length and dustier than usual, but those from districts that had a more favourable season were generally light in condition and of good bulk. Good crutchings were "fully firm on Wellington, but average and inferior lines met with restricted competition. The range of prices was:—Crossbred crutchings, good to super 25d to 30Sd per lb., average, 22d to 24.,d, inferior and seedy, 14d to 18id, caibonising, 7d to 12d. ______
