P.A. WELLINGTON, Aug. 7. A pamphlet has been issued here, which is described as “The National Party’s reply to Hon. R. Semple’s book, “Why I Fight Communism.” The title of this pamphlet is “The Same Brush,” with a sub-title of “Why We Fight Socialism.” The pamphlet gives quotations from speeches and writings of prominent members of the Labour Party. It says “That the New Zealand Labour Party’, in view of its origin and of many published statements of its leaders, should now seek to present itself as the natural foe of Communism (and vice-versa) is nothing less than fantastic.”
The pamphlet says: “The Labour Party’s present campaign against Communism arises from the fact that there is the general election round the corner.”
The pamphlet enumerates what it alleges to be steps already taken towards a common goal of. socialism and Communism.
