Opera House Now Showing: “Lady' Luck,” starring Robert Young and Barbara Hale. “LADY LUCK” Laid against a background of race tracks, night clubs and gambling saloons, the gay, hilarious romantic comedy “Lady Luck” with Robert Young, Barbara Hale and Frank Morgan in leading roles is now showing at the Opera House. A delightful romance revolves around a professional gambler and a lovely young girl whose heritage has made her the swern enemy of every type of gambling. The complications which arise when she finds her bridegroom of three hours at a gambling table, locks him out of the honeymoon suite and applies for a divorce, provide the groundwork for the exciting action of the picture. The husband’s pals take a hand in the matter and convert the girl into an avid gambler and a lucky one, but the efforts of her husband and a clever trick of her gambling grandfather bring her back to normal and the arms of her estranged bridegroom. Featuring the lovely young star, Elizabeth Taylor, the film tells of the troubles of a typical smalltown family. Humour and romance predominate in the light-hearted story of a beautiful young girl who is denied fun and excitement because of the exaggerated caution of her parents. Elizabeth Taylor makes a delightful Cynthia, bringing excitement and warmth to the part of the bewildered youngster. George performances as her parents, assistMurphy and Mary Astor give sterling ed by such well-known screen personalities as S. Z. Sakall, Gene Lockhart and Spring Byington. M-G-M’s “Cynthia” is a picture that will appeal to all, young or old.
