COBDEN SCORES DESERVED WIN OVER BLACKBALL

While the result of the MaristRunanga game may have been no great surprise, the seven-point win of the greatly improving Cobden side was the surprise of yesterday’s Rugb v League games. Plaving fine football, with frequent patches of brilliance, Cobden won by 20 points to 13. Towards the closing stages Blackball made strong efforts to gain the lead, but Cobden finished fresher and faster. For Cobden tries were scored by Herrick, Barber, T. Anderson, and Lee, while Lee converted tw o tries and kicked two goals. Morrow scored two tries for Blackball and Boyd one. R. Nuttall con verted two of the tries.
