NO LET-UP YET

JEWS TAKE OFFENSIVE Britain’s Embargo on Arms and Fighters For Either Side (Rec. 9.50) LONDON, June 4. Britain is banning- the export of arms to Palestine and to the Arab States surrrounding it, and is at the same' time stopping- the immigration of ablebodied Jews to Palestine from Cyprus. It is pointed out in London that Britain has thus carried out the JT.N.O. Security Council’s resolution that all members must prevent arms, munitions and fighting men going info Palestine during the expected four-week truce. The arms ban conies into effect immediately. A Board of Trade official said so on Thursday night, adding that any contracts for munitions still unfulfilled would be cancelled. Fighting, however, continues in Palestine, both in the south and centre, where a bigger battle has developed in the Tel Aviv area and also in the Jordan region. Uncertainty as to a cease-fire continues.
