SOVIET CONCESSION TO FINNISH COMMUNISTS

HELSINKI, June 3

The Finnish Foreign Office announced that Russia has decided to cancel part of the remaining reparations deliveries due from Finland under the armistice and peace treaties. The value of'the cancelled deliveries is about £17,500,000. ' Announcing this decision to the Finnish Government, the Russian Government declared that it resulted from the initiative of the Finnish Cabinet’s three Communist Ministers, Messrs Murto. Janhunen. and Leino. The Soviet decision is welcomed in Helsinki, but is interpreted as a gesture to help the Communists in the general elections on July 1.
