P.A. WELLINGTON, June 3. The Scientific Manpower Committee, set up by the Government to inquire into the adequacy of supply of trained scientists in New Zealand had collected a considerable amount of information on the training of scientists, stated the. Minister of Scientific and industrial Research, Hon. T. H. Mt. Combs, to-day. He added that the committee was inviting prominent scientists and persons associated with the employment of scientists to contribute their opinions on the scientific manpower position in New Zealand. • “It felt that the personal views of those who are closely associated with the practical problems of scientific work in this country will be of considerable value to the committee”, said the Minister. “A questionnaire detailing the most important problems facing the committee has been issued, but the committee will welcome Informed opinion on any matters considered of relevance to accurate appraisal of the present position and ' future needs of scientific manpower in New Zealand”.
