Soviet Diplomats Sending Home Children from New York
As Russian Private School is to be Evicted (Rec. 9.30). NEW YORK, June 1. The Soviet Consul-General’s office here stated to-day that all of the 105 school age children of the Russian diplomats and other Soviet officials in the-New York area have been ordered to return to the Soviet to be educated. This was because of difficulties in obtaining facilities for these children in New York. The children under the age of seven will be allowed to remain with their parents. This decision was announced .when the re-trial of an actiorf to evict a Russian private school from New York city premises began in the Municipal Court. Later, the counsel for the Soviet Consulate-General agreed to the eviction order, which is to be effective as from July 15, and told the Court of the Soviet plan. The city health authorities nave complained that a six-storey building housing the Russian school does not comply with the regulations for school premises. _
