Quarter finals: August beat Lee; Doyle beat Yellowlees; Archer beat Porter.. in the challenge match for the Cunningham Cup, J. Cunningham beat W. J. August 3 and 1. ~ The following reductions in handicaps have been declared: R. Brown 11 to 10; C. D. Doyle 13 to 12; E. Dobson 20 to 19; A. Archer 23 to 21; R. Gilsenan 26 to 23; D. Cartwright 30 to z,7. There will be no official matches at Waitaha this week-end, on occasion of the Greymouth Clubs tournament, at which the club will be strongly represented. . , Members of Waiuta Workingmen s Club silent an enjoyable evening at Blackwater on Friday, when they had a forty-fives tournament with the local team, who won. The finalists were Messrs W. Gardner and E. Chandler (W/iuta) and Messrs R Breslin and I. McMahon, Blackwater the latter having too many ‘'fingers, for their opponents. Messrs Scott and R McDonald (Ikamatua champions') who were a little late for the tourney, challenged the winners, who. however, showed again a marked superiority. Mr E. Chandler, secretary, of the Waiuta Sports Club, has received an invitation from the Millerton Boxing Association for Waiuta amateur boxers to compete in the Millerton Boxing tournament which is to be held on June 25. Waiuta sportsmen hope that a bout may be arranged for K. Webb, the local light heavyweight. .
