Farmer Injured in Crossing Smash

P.A. LEVIN, June 1. A lucky escape from death was experienced by Henry Taylor, aged about 50, married, a farmer of Tokomaru, when a truck that he was driving was struck by the Welling-ton-Auckland exnress goods train at the level crossing 200 yards south of Levin station at 2.30 this afternoon. He suffered a fractured left arm and a probable compound fracture of the skull. He was removed to Palmerston North Hospital. The cab of the truck was wrecked.
