Gisborne’s £200 Theft of Furs

GISBORNE, May 31. “Smash-and-grab” thieves, breaking a panel in an island window of Petties, Ltd., between 1.30 and 2.30 a.m. to-day, escaped with five valuable fur coats worth approximately £2OO. The raiders were selective; they left the cheapest model. The theft was not discovered until 3.15 a.m., when a nightwatchman found the broken panel at the rear of the island window.
