The finals of- the French tennis championships resulted, as follows Men’s singles, Parker (America) beat Drobny (Czechoslovakia) 6/4, 7/5, 5/7, 8/6; women’s singles, Mrs Landry (France) beat Miss Shirley Fry (America). 6/2, 0/6, 6/0. LONDON, May 31. Lightning struck and killed Albert Hill, of Whitworth, Lancashire, while he was participating in a golf competition near Rochdale.
